So I'm going to assume you have a pet and you are wondering if you can get a parasite infection from that pet. This is often a question that parents have when they are deciding if to get the family cat or dog. The short answer is yes you can contact a parasitic infection from your family pet. The longer answer of course is that it all depends on how you care for the pet and your property
The first thing that you can do is if you see strange items in your dogs feces, you will need to take that to the vet. They can identify the type of parasite. Being dilligent in watching for worms in the fecal matter, is often a way to prevent human infection. Get the animal treated. In conjunction, make sure you get your pet checked annual for worms and other parasites. Tape worm is passed though the feces, which makes it rare but not unheard of for it ot be passed to humans.e Typical ways of infection come from children ingesting dirt that is infected from animal.
Good health practices, of cleaning up after you pet, not washing fecal material into the dirt and making sure to have your puppies dewormed and annual vet visits will seriously reduce any risk. I guess you could say you are the bigger risk factor to becoming infected than your animal.
