Amebiasis is a parasite infection that lives in the large intestine. The parasite can live in the intestine for a long time without causing disease or it can migrate to the colon and from there cause colitis, dysentery or chronic diarrhea, which may mimic or be inadvertently diagnosed as IBS, or irritable bowel syndrome. The infestation may also spread to the liver and can in rare case go to the lungs, brain or other organs.
Amebiasis is a worldwide parasite, however it is very prevalent in the southern climates, warm tropical weather. Overcrowding also helps spread this parasite. Other means of transmission can be cockroaches, flies or contaminated food or water or using human waste as fertilizer. There are as many as 40+ million case world wide.
Symptoms include frequent bowel movements or diarrhea, cramps and consistent abdominal pain, plus it is painful to go to the bathroom. The diarrhea also contain mucus and in severe cases blood.
If you suffer from IBS, and your symptoms mimic what is listed above we.ve had great success with our digestin product. On a personal note, we have found that taking Digestin has greatly helped our IBS. There is other research that shows that taking a digestive enzyme daily with each meal also helps limit the development of parasites.
