Hard, dry, itchy painful. These are
words that are common to a sufferer of eczema. This skin disorder is known for
the dry itchy skin, red and oozy bumps. What doctors say is the common cause of
Eczema is allergies or even change of season or stress. It is estimated that 70
percent of eczema sufferers also have asthma, hay fever allergies or hives.
There are two different
classifications of eczema, atopic dermatitis and contact dermatitis. Atopic
dermatitis is a chronic skin condition caused by allergies. Common places of
Atopic dermatitis may appear hands, neck, face wrists and knees and
elbows.
The other and maybe more painful
version of eczema is the contact dermatitis This usually has the weeping open sores
and in most cases caused by an outside reason. Commonly you see this type in
people who come in contact with poison ivy. Other can result from exposure to planes,
perfumes, latex and other metal alloys.
People who suffer from either type of
eczema have changes in the way new skin is processed. Once activated the way new
skin is made is permanently altered. The problem is it never finishes and skin
is constantly regenerating at a much faster rate than those without the
condition. Commonly hydrocortisone is prescribed to treat this however, there
are side effect that can effect or compromise the immune system.
There is a list of topical and all
